Golden Rose Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
This trip back to Saigon was not as planned as the trip I had last year.
My (older) sister works for Asian Development Bank (ADB) and travels a lot. All the time, I would ask her where she's off to next, thinking I would come with her but this is the only time that I was really able to do so because I do not have work currently (my Cinemalaya project has ended a month ago and my Viva project has not yet started rolling).
Since she was in Vietnam for official business, she checked in at the Golden Rose Hotel, where I would normally check in at a cheaper or a backpacker's hotel. Being a truly loving sister, she checked me in at the same hotel, with my own room and a day in advance of her arrival. Hurrah for generous siblings! :)
Here are the photos of the hotel. All look exactly the same as in their website, sans the fresh flowers in every room.
It's got all a guest's basic needs - hot and cold shower, ref in the room, closets, mirrors, writing table, side chairs, towels (face, hand, foot, body), toiletries, a/c... And a generous breakfast buffet - they've got jams (usually pineapple and strawberry), bacon and sausage, pasta, meats, yogurt, juice, coffee, milk, omelette bar and a salad bar. And I love breakfasts. It's my favorite meal of the day, although I don't usually wake up early, so when I have the chance, I always stuff up my tummy with a really nice brekky.
